When Your Pup Is Sick

Say your pup ate something icky, and now they aren’t feeling well. It is important to get them checked out by the veterinarian, first and foremost!

Or maybe your pup is having surgery and will feel off for a few days.

The old recommendation was prescription canned food, or cooking chicken and rice. The problem is that the canned food isn’t good for your pet, chicken is a common protein that dogs don’t always do well with, and rice is full of starch which isn’t good for your dog.

Instead, I really like to feed the nutritious and very hydrating Doggie Milkshake when dogs are recovering. I recommend 3/4 of a cup for every approximately 20lbs of body weight per day until your pup is feeling better.
